Catering Policies

Please review our policies before entering the Catering section.

Guaranteed Count

A final guaranteed count is due by Noon three (3) business days prior to your event. This final guarantee ensures we have appropriate food and staffing for your event. Your final invoice will reflect this guarantee and any additional guests if applicable. If a final guarantee is not submitted, the originally guaranteed count will be used for preparation and billing purposes.

Payment Policy

Utah Tech Campus Dining Services gladly accepts: cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover.

Off-Campus Groups

Businesses without a Campus Dining Services Account-
A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 is required to confirm your event. The remaining balance is due at the time of your guaranteed count, three (3) business days before your event. If guaranteeing with a credit card, this same credit card will be charged the remaining balance at the conclusion of your event. A receipt will be sent to you after your card has been charged.
Businesses with a Campus Dining Services Account-
Full payment is expected within fourteen (14) days. If payment is not received by this time, a finance charge of 1.5% monthly will be assessed, in addition to a late fee of $25.

Cancellations

Once an event is booked and confirmed, there will be a penalty for any event that needs to be cancelled. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to Campus Dining Services. Please mail, hand-deliver, or email (catering@utahtech.edu).

* For any event cancelled prior to two weeks before your event date, a cancellation fee of $75 will apply.
* If an event is cancelled two weeks prior to and up to three (3) business days before, a cancellation penalty of $150 will be in place.
* Orders cancelled less than 72 hours (or three business days) before the event will be charged 50% of the expected amount of the bill.

Leftover Food and/or Beverages

In order to maintain the highest level of food safety standards, and in accordance with industry standards, the removal of any leftover food and/ or beverages is prohibited, except by authorized Campus Dining Services employees. In the case of buffet meals, in order to maintain an appealing appearance, additional food may be displayed which is over and above the guaranteed count and is not to be removed. Credit will not be issued for leftover food, beverages or any unused items.

Miscellaneous Policies

No outside food or beverages are allowed.

Utah Tech does not allow the consumption of alcoholic beverages on the UT campus.

All audiovisual items, with the exception of Laptops, must be supplied by the Gardner Center. No outside audio visual is allowed. Any audiovisual items need to be ordered one (1) week in advance.

Tax Exemption

If your organization or group is tax exempt, a Tax Exemption Certificate (TC-721) must be on file to confirm your event. If the form is not on file, sales tax will be charged.

Pickup Will Call

Orders are pickup only. Orders can be placed to be picked up hot or cold.

Deliver Only

Orders are dropped off at a location of your choice. All Deliver Only orders are priced using an a la carte method. Deliver Only orders do not include paper products. They are available upon request for a fee. A delivery fee of $10.00 or 10% (whichever is greater) will be added to the order. (We can only deliver to University affiliated groups and events)

Deliver and Set

Orders are delivered to location scheduled through Central Scheduling, presented on a table provided by customer or coordinated with Guest Services, with linen, and service ware, left for event duration, and then cleaned up. A delivery fee of $15.00 or 12% (whichever is greater) will be added to the order.

Catered Buffet

Orders are set up at location scheduled through Central Scheduling. A catered buffet is presented with full table settings that included linen, glassware, and silverware, along with buffets dressed with linen, serviceware, and china. Catering staff will attend to the buffet and service from the beginning to the end of the event. A Catered Buffet is priced per person and a service charge of 18% will be added to the order.

Catered Serve (plated)

Orders are set up at location scheduled through Central Scheduling. A Catered Serve is presented with full table settings that include linen, glassware, silverware, and china. A Catered Serve is a 3-course meal served to your guests at the table. Catering Staff will attend to the guests and service from the beginning to end of the event. Catered Serve is priced per person with an additional $3.00 for plated service, and a service charge of 18%.
